Safeguarding Our Educational Haven: The Crucial Role of Cybersecurity in Schools
In the digital age, schools stand as vital hubs of education, fostering the growth and well-being of students, faculty, and everyone associated with...
This is a blog post straight from the heart of Jesse, our Founder and CEO.
Why our culture makes us better
I fully believe that our culture and our team is what makes us. We are different than most other IT and cybersecurity companies out there. We know that we’re different because we hear it almost daily from customers and others who just find out about us and then see what we’re doing.
Culture is one of the most critical things that any organization needs, listen to almost any leadership anything and you’ll hear about it in everything. I have understood that culture is so incredibly important and have made it one of the highest priorities at JPtheGeek.
We start that from the very beginning with our hiring process, we hire our team members based on three C’s, Character, Cohesiveness, and Competency. Competency is usually the least important for me, they must have the aptitude to do what we do obviously, but we can teach people how to do things, but we cannot teach them how to be a decent human being. Thus, that’s how we hire. We look for the special people, the people who genuinely love what they do, the people who love serving others, educating others, and overall helping others.
So from the start, we have an entire team of people who love being here, because they’re working with like-minded people who carry similar values of caring for and serving others, which then creates an amazing environment here at our office that bleeds through to every single one of our customers.
We have a team that you love working with, sure you don’t want to have technology issues, but they’re inevitable, and when you do, you have someone who cares about your issue and wants to get you back up and running again as quickly as possible. Or someone who wants to keep your organization secure because they know how that can affect you, your employees, and their families (the rule of x4).
You know the saying a family that plays together, stays together. We have a work family that plays together, through game nights at people’s houses, to game times at the office in the game room (happens pretty much every day), to nerf wars throughout the office (we tell new hires that they should invest in a good nerf gun). Our team loves to play together and because of that, you’ll experience something new with our team. Something different. Something amazing to be honest.
When you prioritize the culture of your organization, find the people that fit, and ensure that it is one of the most critical pieces to the who you are, you build an amazing organization that lives and breathes the values that you set forth.
These are the things that lead to our amazing google reviews, our incredible customer satisfaction, our video testimonials, etc. The relationships that we build with our customers can’t be beat and that is what makes us unique.
I write this because of how absolutely incredible our team is and I really felt like I needed some way to communicate this. I hope that this blog post not only shines a light on our amazing team but can also help other organizations as they’re struggling with building a great team. A team that you want to go to work with every day, a team that you want to play games with, a team that you want to go through the trenches of business with. I hope that every business owner or leader gets to experience the team that we have here at JPtheGeek.
